Focus on Property is a leading commercial property management company based in Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay & Waikato.
Focus on Property was established by Greg Robison in 2001.
As a Chartered Accountant and passionate property investor he saw a need to help get people into the world of commercial property ownership. For those that didn't have the time, the experience, or just thought it was always out of their reach, Greg was able to create unique pathways to enable them to step onto the ladder.
This process was repeated many times over the years, with the team of Alyson Tomalin, Peter Martelletti and Tony Lawrence the business grew to over $160M under management in the first ten years.
In 2012 the Bakers became involved and purchased 50% of Focus on Property, this brought more development and construction knowledge to the business skillset and we set about overhauling the internal systems with modern property management software and Accounting technology.
By 2017 we had outgrown our office in Mount Maunganui and moved over the bridge to the CBD of Tauranga, this move was significant to show we wanted to be a part of the CBD regeneration and be close to our valuable network of valuers, bankers, architects, engineers and real estate agents.
In early 2019 a phone call from Morten Freer lead to the establishment of Focus on Property Hawkes Bay, he saw an opportunity to offer commercial property management services to the area. As a satellite office to Tauranga, it has all the support and systems in place to allow Morten to build his base of Landlords and start adding value to their property.
Later in 2019 after near 20 years of enormous dedication, Greg was ready to step back from the business and sold his remaining 50% of the business to David Baker. Greg remained on as a Director for a further year and then retired to manage his own commercial property interests.
With continued growth in the Waikato it was time to establish a full time presence in Hamilton. In mid-2023 Brad Martin led the establishment of the Focus on Property Hamilton office, offering the full suite of commercial property services to Landlords across the Waikato. It has been a very successful start with Brad quickly needing more hands. Jamie Armstrong has now joined the team as Property Manager and we are excited about the big potential held in the region.

David Baker

David is a Director of, and the General Manager of, Focus on Property.
He leads the way forward for the company overseeing all aspects of the business operation.
David has a Degree in Valuation and Property Management from Lincoln University and bought his first building at 22 years old. Having now been involved in 10 years' worth of property deals, leasing and strategy, he holds a growing portfolio of personal property and assisted many others to grow their wealth as well. David loves to identify the unique factors that create value and bring properties to higher levels of performance.
Kevin Baker

Kevin is a Director of, and the Property Development Manager of, Focus on Property.
Originally a dairy farmer, he has built an extensive portfolio across office and commercial buildings, and commercial development projects including buildings for The Warehouse, New World, Burger King, Caltex and Pelco.
With his passion for innovation with commercial property, Kevin understands the unique aspects that allow investors to generate and preserve wealth that is both inflation proofed and intergenerational.
Taryn Collins

Taryn worked in banking before making the switch to residential property management in London on some very large housing estates during her two-year OE.
An integral part of the Focus on Property team, Taryn now holds a portfolio with a wide range of building uses and tenants with whom she takes pride in keeping in regular contact to ensure smooth management and performance growth.
Originally from Westport, Taryn recently relocated to Tauranga and is loving the lifestyle and getting to know new people.
Dan Rae

Dan is a well-connected Property Manager who comes to Focus on Property following a 10-year career in Business to Business sales, during which time he built a large network of business contacts around Tauranga.
A Mount Maunganui local of some 15 years, Dan has in the past renovated and sold residential property and is now thriving in the world of commercial property.
Dan has a proven ability to build rapport and keep tenant negotiations on track with his calculated view of the best long-term outcomes.
Dan is a keen surfer and has travelled much of the world chasing waves.
Stacey Richards

Stacey has joined us from Scentre Group in Auckland, initially a casual leasing administration manager but then expanded into Health and Saftey contractor compliance management for Scentre Design and Construct, working on one of the largest mall construction projects in NZ, Westfield Newmarket.
Holding a large portfolio of properties across Tauranga, Rotorua and Hamilton, Stacey will become a regular visitor to our tenants to ensure the buildings are performing well all tenant needs are met.
Loving the move to Tauranga, Stacey has stepped straight onto the property ladder, buying her first home and looking forward to settling into the Bay of Plenty lifestyle.
Guy Brewer

Guy originally studied electronics and electrical engineering then moved to Auckland, working for various telecommunication firms. Wanting a change in career, he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Studies in 2010 before moving to a large accounting firm in Otorohanga. Guy shifted to Tauranga in 2017 and enjoys the Bay of Plenty lifestyle with easy access to the water and close proximity to a number of New Zealand's best outdoor activity centres.
After being a residential landlord, he is now keen to enter the commercial property market.
Sam Hayr

Sam has a Bachelor of Property from Lincoln University in Canterbury.
Sam has joined us from KiwiRail in Wellington where she spent two years managing a mixed portfolio in Wellington and the South Island. This was largely managing logistics-based tenants. Prior to this, Sam worked at Auckland Airport within the property team.
Holding a diverse portfolio across Tauranga, Sam uses her knowledge and experience to ensure seamless management of her buildings.
Sam keeps active and loves to spending the weekend outdoors with friends and family. She also enjoys social tennis and soccer.

After fine-tuning his business and commercial expertise at Focus on Property in Tauranga for several years, Morten Freer opened a second Focus on Property office in his hometown of Hawke's Bay. Commercially astute and passionate about property investment, Morten brings a level of expertise in property management and investment that will elevate your property portfolio.
Once a passionate cricketer, Morten now enjoys quiet weekends with daughter Ida and wife Rochelle and can often be seen on the side-line at different sporting events.

Rochelle has joined as a shareholder, starting in 2020 as the Accounts and Office Manager.
Rochelle spent 6 + years in Mount Maunganui before returning home to Hawke's Bay with husband Morten and daughter Ida, to focus on being a mum and completing legal studies. With a background in banking and large-scale retail management.
Rochelle is an active member in the community, prides herself on personalised service, she looks forward to growing the Hawke's Bay business, and expanding into future roles within the company.

Milly is new to the Focus on Property team and has brought with her a solid account management background across various portfolios. Milly has excelled in sales throughout her career and with this comes a passion for excellent service and communication with all clients. Mel joined Focus on Property Hawkes Bay in March 2021. Before joining Focus on Property, she had achieved a successful career of over 15 years in banking as a senior lending consultant, Mel has a meticulous approach to her work and along with her great people skills and can-do attitude she brings valuable knowledge of residential property relations to the team, she is passionate about all things property and excited to expand into the commercial sector.
Mel has two adult children and a grandson; she is Hawke's Bay born and bred with a love for the region and its outdoor lifestyle she enjoys biking and spending time with her family in both Hawke's Bay and Tauranga.

Brad is a Director and Shareholder of the Focus on Property Hamilton office, serving the wider Waikato region. Brad has an Honours degree in Finance from the University of Waikato and prior to opening the Hamilton office spent 5 years as a commercial real estate agent in Hamilton and prior to that spent 15 years as a banker in financial market roles at ANZ and Westpac, both in NZ and Asia. Brad built his first industrial warehouse in Cambridge in 2005 that he still owns today which started his commercial property journey that has seen further buildings acquired in the subsequent years. A firm believer in commercial property as an excellent long-term investment, and with a background in banking, sales, and leasing, Brad has the experience to add value to your commercial property investments.
Brad is married to Sarah, they have 3 daughters and live on a small farm in Te Kowhai.
Jamie Armstrong

Starting her Real Estate career in 2012; Jamie has experience in a variety of roles, including residential sales, commercial sales & leasing, residential property management and office management.
For the last 6 years Jamie has been an integral team member at Red Bricks Real Estate where she has been Office Manager as well as managing and oversight of the residential property portfolio. Prior to this, Jamie spent 2 years at Harcourts Residential and is no stranger to commercial property having spent 4 years with the commercial sales and leasing team at L J Hooker.
Jamie is a Hamilton local and has a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Waikato.
Her weekends are spent on the bush block she owns in Ngaruawahia.
